Champions League - PSG vs Manchester City prediction, team news, lineup

Manchester City will play against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes as the hosts seek vengeance in Champions League Group A. After meeting in last season’s semi-finals the two sides renew their rivalry where Pep Guardiola’s men won both games to end the Parisiens’ European dream for another year. Here is our expert guess on PSG vs Manchester City football prediction for the Champions League match of the season.

Team news

Angel Di Maria is suspended but Idrissa Gueye will be present after missing 1-1 draw with Club Bruges due to a ban.

Leo Messi and Marco Verratti are expected to be included in the matchday squad, but it’s unclear whether they’ll be fit enough to play.

Layvin Kurzawa, Colin Dagba, and Juan Bernat have all returned to training but Sergio Ramos remains out for PSG.

Manchester City

Aymeric Laporte, Rodri, and John Stones were all fit enough to play in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Chelsea, with the former pair starting at Stamford Bridge.

In City’s starting lineup Stones could replace Laporte for the first time this season.

Following a bout with COVID-19 Zack Steffen was also named to the bench in the capital.

PSG vs Manchester City Prediction

In the first Champions League game of the season, PSG was held to a 1-1 draw in Belgium but they rebounded with back-to-back victories over Metz and Montpellier. This season the Parisians have a perfect record in Ligue 1 and must translate that form to European duties.

On Saturday, Manchester City won 1-0 at Chelsea and they’ll look to follow up their victory with another huge win in midweek.  This will be the first time the two have met since last season’s Champions League semi-final.

City will consider a draw to be a positive result in their group stage clash. Man City should be confident about their chances of repeating their recent success in battles with their French counterparts, and we see them doing so by the smallest of margins at the Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain possible starting lineup: Navas; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Diallo; Gueye, Paredes, Herrera; Draxler, Mbappe, Neymar

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; B. Silva, Fernandinho, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Torres, Grealish

Our Prediction: Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Manchester City
