Magomed Ozdoyev’s injury time goal helped Zenit play out a 3–3 (match score) draw with Chelsea, leaving the Blues second behind Juventus in Group H of the Champions League football tournament. Defending champions Chelsea and Juventus had already made it to the knockouts of the Champions League. There was a competition between these two to be on top of the group. A second-place finish means Chelsea will face the group winner in the last-16, which could make it difficult for them to advance. Earlier, Timo Werner scored for Chelsea in the 2nd and 85th minutes and Romelu Lukaku in the 62nd minute, while Claudinho scored in 38th, Sardar Azmoun found the net in 41st minute and Ozdoyev hit the decisive goal in injury time (90+4) for Zenit.
In another match of the League, In Group F, Manchester United and Young Boys ended in a 1–1 draw, with the Red Devils finishing at the top of the group. Mason Greenwood scored for Manchester United in the ninth minute, while Fabian Rieder scored for the Young Boys in the 42nd minute to equalize. However, both the teams could not score any other goal till the last whistle and the match ended in a draw.
Another Spanish club, Sevilla, also failed to make it to the knockouts. All four teams in Group G had a chance to advance, but Lille beat Wolfsburg 3–1, while Salzburg defeated Sevilla 1–0 to make it to the last-16 and as a result, Sevilla finished third.
