Champions League and Europa League final venues announced

UEFA announced that the next four Champions League Final will be held in Saint-Petersburg, Istanbul, London, and Munich, with two of the next four Europa League Finals taking place in Spain.

The final of 2021 was scheduled to take place in Istanbul, but the venue was changed to Porto due to the COVID-19 situation in various European countries. The Champions League Final 2021 held at Porto saw Chelsea win the trophy against Manchester City. The blues dominated the tournament after winning it last in 2012.

However, UEFA has confirmed that Istanbul will host the 2023 Champions League Final as the country missed the chance last year due to relocation. This season’s final will be held in Russia in St Petersburg, which also hosted some UEFA EURO 2020 games. London’s Wembley Stadium, which hosted the Euros’ semi-finals and Final, will host the 2024 Final.

The Champions League Final of the year 2025 will be held in Munich. It is a somewhat surprising show of confidence in Wembley following the chaotic scenes surrounding the EURO 2020 Final between England and Italy, which saw potentially thousands of ticketless supporters storm the gates and gain entry.

In 2021 the UEFA Europa League final was held in Poland at Gdansk stadium. Unlike Champions League Final venue, UEL stadium remained the same. The decisive match was played between Villarreal and Manchester United on May 27th, 2021, and Yellow Submarines lifted the trophy on penalties.

Spain will be the country to present the Europa League trophy in both 2022 and 2025. UEFA reiterated that Dublin and Bilbao would be rewarded as a result of the relocation of EURO 2020 matches. Seville will host the Final in 2022, Budapest in 2023, Dublin in 2024, and Bilbao in 2025.
