Brahim Diaz tested coronavirus positive

Brahim Diaz, AC Milan midfielder, has tested positive for coronavirus and as a result, he has been added to the list of absentees ahead of the encounter against Hellas Verona. This means Milan will be without Diaz in Serie A football match against Hellas Verona.

Theo Hernandez is now battling COVID-19, and the Rossoneri have confirmed that Brahim Diaz has tested positive as well. The Diavolo has stated that the players are ‘OK and in isolation,’ as per the health authorities’ protocol.

“AC Milan announces that Brahim Díaz tested positive in a swab carried out today,” the club wrote in a statement. “The player is doing well and is in isolation at home. The whole team has been tested with a negative result. Close monitoring with swab tests will follow according to the indications provided by the relevant health authorities, who were immediately informed.”

According to Milan head coach Stefano Pioli, Brahim Diaz was feeling a little under the cold this morning, and his availability for the encounter against Hellas Verona was in doubt. Ahead of their meeting against Igor Tudor’s side Milan is dealing with a number of injuries and absences, and Pioli said that a decision on Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be made tomorrow.

While Davide Calabria appears to be in good shape and might play Junior Messias and Tiemoue Bakayoko are still recovering from injuries. Fodé Ballo-Touré will start at left because Theo Hernandez is out due to coronavirus.
