Anderlecht has signed Bayern’s Joshua Zirkzee on a season long loan deal. Both sides officially confirmed the news. Bayern Munich has loaned Zirkzee, who is highly rated in the Bayern set-up. The 20-year-old joined the RSC football club for a season but without a buyout clause.
“FC Bayern have loaned Joshua Zirkzee to Anderlecht for one year without an option to purchase. The 20-year-old striker is to gain further match practice at the Belgian record champions,” the club wrote in a statement on their website.
The second half of the last season the 20-year-old Dutchman spent on loan at Parma. Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has commented on Zirkzee’s move to the Belgian club:“It’s very important for Joshua to get as much playing time as possible and Anderlecht offers him that chance so he can take an important step in his career in an interesting club, I trust him to have a good season”.
During a pre-season friendly with the Bayern first team the Netherlands youth international made the headlines for the wrong reasons. Nagelsmann commented after the match, “I think that [Joshua Zirkzee] hasn’t seen his opponent approaching. He wanted to finish this one casually. I hope that he has a different sense of seriousness in competitive matches.”
“Basically, he is doing many things right. At the beginning of this situation, he recovered the ball very well. We all wished that we could have gone ahead there and I don’t think he did this deliberately. And I will not talk to him about this because he knows he could have done better.”
