“I let pride get the better of me,” says Cagliari midfielder

Nainggolan didn’t have a great time at Inter when Antonio Conte took over. 

“I went to Inter with a coach who really wanted me there. I arrived with so much enthusiasm, then I got injured and had some problems. Looking at the statistics, I can be satisfied, even if I can do better.

“I did still hope to be given another chance, but that didn’t happen. It’s a decision I have to accept. I have another two years on my contract with Inter, we’ll see what happens, as so much has changed at the club.

“I still believe that I can have my say at Inter. I never had any problems in the dressing room, despite what’s reported.” 

Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan had a fight with the then Director of Sports Monchi which led him to leave Roma. He only lasted one season in San Siro before he was frozen.

“I left my heart in Rome, as that was a unique experience. Unfortunately, I let pride get the better of me and that made me change clubs,” said Nainggolan in his Instagram Live chat with tennis champion Fabio Fognini.
