UEFA ChampionshipFC Porto 0-4 Club Brugge

FC Porto 0-4 Club Brugge

FC Porto and Club Brugge started the game with a good tempo and looked strong when attacking. Club Brugge broke the deadlock after Jutgla scored from the penalty spot.

The Spaniard won the spot kick after he drew a foul from Joao Mario in the box.

He placed his shot past Costa and into the bottom right corner.

The visitors then took the game away from Porto early in the second half.

Sowah was quicker to the ball than Zaidu and finished past Costa before Skov Olsen did the same following a cross from Meijer.

17-year-old Nusa then scored on his Champions League debut to make it 4-0 in the 89th minute to close the game.

Starting lineup:

Porto (4-4-2): Diogo Costa; Joao Mario, Pepe, David Carmo, Zaidu; Otavio, Stephen Eustaquio, Mateus Uribe, Galeno; Pepe, Evanilson.

Club Brugge (4-3-3): Simon Mignolet; Dennis Odoi, Brandon Mechele, Abakar Sylla, Bjorn Meijer; Casper Nielsen, Raphael Onyedika, Hans Vanaken; Andreas Skov Olsen, Ferren Jutgla, Kamal Sowah.

Goals:

GOALLLL!!!! 1-0 JUTGLA!!! Jutgla makes no mistake from the spot to put Club Brugge in the lead. He slots the ball into the bottom right corner and past Costa, who dives the right way.

GOALLLL!!!!! 2-0 SOWAH!!! It is the perfect start for Club Brugge in the second half as Sowah doubles their lead. He gets to the pass from Jutgla before Zaidu can intercept and calmly slots the ball past Costa.

GOALLLL!!!!! SKOV OLSEN!!! Club Brugge continue their dominant start to the half with another goal! Meijer plays a low driven cross into the box, it is missed by Jutgla and caught sweetly by an unmarked Skov Olsen. 3-0.

GOALL!!!!! 4-0 NUSA!!! The 17-year-old makes it 4-0 as he scores on his Champions League debut. Nielsen plays a superb ball in behind to the attacker and Nusa places the ball past Costa and into the bottom left corner.

So, what’s next?

Back-to-back defeats for Porto to start their European campaign means they have a very difficult job on their hands now if they want to progress to the knockout rounds.

They will face Bayer Leverkusen in their next Champions League game, with the German side currently second in the group.

Club Brugge is now top of their group with two wins. They will host Atletico Madrid in their next European match.
