Everton secure a result in their battle to remain in the Premier League by beating Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park.
Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game in the first half with an effort that deflected off Harry Maguire to find the back of the net.
The Toffees were resilient at the back throughout the contest to secure the victory.
United suffered a damaging loss in their bid to finish in the top four, which appears to be slipping away by the week.

GORDON FIRES EVERTON AHEAD!!!!!!! 1-0!!!!!!! Gordon latches on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and sees his right-footed strike deflected past De Gea. Gordon starts the move by releasing Richarlison down the left flank. The Brazilian cuts a cross back into the middle that falls into the path of Gordon. The winger shoots first-time on his right foot and his effort takes a huge deflection off Maguire to wrong-foot De Gea and roll into the net.
What does it mean? Hope for Everton.
The Toffees welcomed United, having lost 10 of their 12 Premier League games in 2022, a run that left them just a point above 18th-placed Burnley.
However, they stopped the rot with a crucial three points that gave them only a second win in 14 league meetings with the Red Devils.
Gordon wins it for Everton.
A deflection aided him, but Gordon proved to be the matchwinner with only his third league goal of the season.
The winger led the way for the hosts with two key passes and seven assists – a tally only bettered by Alex Telles (12) – while no player won more fouls (three-level with Richarlison).
So, what’s next?
Everton will face Leicester in their next Premier League outing on April 20th at home.
Meanwhile, United are next in action against Norwich at Old Trafford next week.
