Fenerbahce sporting director Emre Belözoğlu has estimated the probability of a transfer for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.
“As a representative of the club I am very positive, but it is not that simple. We have our own plans and Mesut has a contract with the club [until June 30]. He is a superstar. He is a player who is involved in every second goal at his clubs. I would be very happy for Fenerbahce to have such a player, “Emre told Sky Sports.
“We had a meeting with him and also with his agent and we can say that Mesut is closer to a move to Fenerbahce than ever. If he agrees with his club [to leave] on our terms, we will not exceed the financial limit for this year.”
“Fenerbahce and many other clubs are no longer able to offer players contracts worth 4-5 million euros a year. We have no right to upset the balance in the payroll, it would hit other players.”
