EFL Cup: Chelsea, Tottenham, and Liverpool book semi-final seats

Chelsea defeated Brentford 2–0 to reach the semi-finals of the League Cup football tournament where they will face Tottenham Hotspur. Chelsea, Tottenham, and Liverpool reach the semi-finals of the EFL League Cup.

Tottenham registered a 2-1 win over West Ham in another football match. The other semi-final will be played between Liverpool and Arsenal. Liverpool beat Leicester City 5-4 in a penalty shootout to take on Arsenal, who had registered a massive 5-1 match score win over Sunderland the day before.

The match between Chelsea and Brentford was goalless for 80 minutes. Pontus Jansson’s suicide goal gave Chelsea the lead while Jorginho converted a penalty in the 85th minute to make the score 2-0.

All three goals between Tottenham and West Ham were scored within five minutes in the first half. Steven Bergwijn gave Spurs the lead in the 29th minute, but Jarrod Bowen equalized for West Ham three minutes later. Lucas Moura again gave Tottenham the lead in the 34th minute, which was maintained till the end.

The match between Liverpool and Arsenal was tied at 3-3 till the scheduled time after which a penalty shootout was resorted to. Liverpool was trailing 3–1 after the first half but was able to equalize in the second half with goals from Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino.
