Diego Maradona dies of cardiac arrest at 60

Argentina legend Diego Armando Maradona passed away at the age of 60 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He took his last breath at his home in Tigre.

Earlier in November Maradona was hospitalized at Buenos Aries hospital for brain treatment. He only recently had surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain, following a fall.

However, he was discharged over a week ago and continued treatment at home.

Argentine newspapers Clarin and Ole claim the World Cup winner suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest on Wednesday morning local time in the town of Tigre.

A cardiorespiratory arrest means his heart stopped and he was not breathing, so had to be resuscitated.

According to an updated report by Clarin, Maradona has died.
