Former England NT goalkeeper David James has shared his views about the future of Manchester City forward Sergio Agüero at the club.
“I would let him go. Agüero is a Manchester City legend and always will be. However, there comes a point when the team relies on him and can’t move on. They have proven that they can move forward without him,” James said for Stadium Astro.
“Although he is a club legend and a dangerous threat to opponents, Agüero spends a lot of time recovering from injury, he doesn’t always become the top scorer in the Premier League. I think Man City are slowly coming around to the idea that a few scoring players are more important than one outstanding striker.”
“If you can get some money from PSG for Agüero, especially given how long he’s been injured, you need to take advantage of that. It will turn out to be a warm farewell. I’m sure there will be a number of players who would like to move to Manchester City to take Agüero’s place.”
