The cases of Coronavirus have started increasing once again, the effect of which started showing again on sports. The match between Manchester United and Brentford has been postponed due to increasing cases of coronavirus infection during English Premier League football tournament. Over the past three days, this is the second football match which has been postponed.

Till Sunday, 42 cases were reported after the investigation of 3805 players and club staff members, that is, 12 cases have increased in the last seven days. Some Manchester United players and staff were found to be tested positive after a 1-0 win over Norwich City.

Restrictions related to the corona epidemic have also been re-implemented. The English Premier League board accepted Manchester United’s request to postpone Tuesday’s football match because of coronavirus outbreak in the team. Earlier Sunday’s football match between Tottenham and Brighton was also postponed, as at least 8 players and five staff members were found positive. A total of 13 cases in Tottenham led to the cancelation of their next match too which was scheduled to be played against Rennes.

Cases of infection have also been found in Norwich City and Aston Villa teams. Due to the increase in cases of the Omicron variant in the UK, some restrictions related to the corona epidemic have been reinstated, including wearing a mask and maintaining social distance.
