Cadiz completes a long-awaited return to La Liga

The Cadiz makes a comeback to the first Spanish football league after 14 years. In the Primera two rounds, they secured one of the first two places leading directly before the end of the competition in the second league.

On Saturday they lost at home to Fuenlabrada but Cadiz was “helped” by Sunday’s home defeat of third-placed Real from Zaragoza, who lost to the namesake from Oviedo 2-4. While from the fourth Almeria they have nine points more with a game more, but also a better ratio in mutual meetings, Cadiz remained on an unattainable seven-point advantage over Zaragoza, two rounds before the end.

Two rounds before the end of Segunda, the second place that also leads directly in the Primera is held by Huesca with 64 points, while the positions leading to the playoffs along with the third Zaragoza and fourth Almeria are also the fifth Girona with 60 and the sixth Fuenlabrada with 57 points.

From 1985 to 1993 Cadiz was a permanent member of the Primera Division, while in the last 27 years he played the only season in the company of the best in 2005/06.
