Bronckhorst: taking charge of the Gunners is a “big dream”

Despite being happy at Guangzhou R&F China, Giovanni van Bronckhorst dreams of working in the Premier League.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst would greet the opportunity to take charge of Arsenal in the eventuality, and also has aspirations for Premier League coaching.

The former Netherlands international is currently working at Guangzhou R&F, having moved to the Chinese Super League club in January.

For four years Van Bronckhorst had previously been in the top job at Feyenoord, leading the club where he started and in the 2016-17 season to the Eredivisie title he finished his playing career.

While satisfied with his current employers, his goal is to one day work in the Premier League.

For the Dutchman a return to holding command of the Gunners is a “big dream”, another previous team from his playing days.

“I am enjoying my work in China at the moment,” Van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports News.

“But as a player, I had ambition and as a coach, I have ambition. To me, the Premier League is the number one league in the world in which to work and, for me, it is definitely an ambition to work in.”

“I always said it would be a big dream to be able to coach the teams I played for.”

When Van Bronckhorst’s tenure at Feyenoord came to an end he took the opportunity to visit Manchester City and spend time watching Pep Guardiola at work.

“I spent five months with the City group last year, and lots of time with Pep in Manchester,” said Van Bronckhorst.

“He was very open. He spoke with his staff about the training sessions and I could watch and see everything and talk to them.”
