Barca has confirmed plans to auction the rights for the next season and give over profits to charitable initiatives and the battle against coronavirus. This will be happening for the first time in its 63-year history, Barca is going to have a formal name. Confirms The Guardian reports.
Currently, it is the largest football stadium in Europe. When it was first inaugurated in 1957 the stadium Camp Nou was named de facto.
Over the coming weeks, they await to find a sponsor and want to spend part of the sum on charities participating in COVID-19’s investigation and also stated that they would give up the title rights to the charitable fund of the team.
A declaration identified this as a “world unprecedented crisis” during which Barcelona will “assume responsibility”.
Barcelona also said that they want to “create a wave of optimism for millions of citizens across the world who are suffering from this pandemic.” and the initiative matches well with their statement that they are “more than a club.”
