Ansu Fati’s one goal created Barcelona history

Barcelona hit 9,000 goals in all official competitions, after their 4-1 win over Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday.

Barca reached the landmark, thanks to the young star Ansu Fati, who came off the bench and netted the fourth goal of the season to Villarreal.

Just over 111 years later Barca recorded their 9,000th goal – star captain and six-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, Lionel Messi, scoring 630.

6,165 goals were scored in La Liga, for the actual number for Barca accompanied by the Copa del Rey (1,474) and the Champions League (543).

With the first goal scored at the third minute, the Blaugrana added four goals against Villarreal to their league record.
