Alan Shearer and Micah Richards shares embarrassing moment at Stamford

Alan Shearer and Micah Richards shares embarrassing moment at Stamford. Following Sunday’s narrow 1-0 loss to Mikel Arteta‘s team at Stamford Bridge, Graham Potter’s Chelsea are now 13 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.

On Match of the Day, Marc Cucurella’s defense was criticized for being “embarrassing” following Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal on Sunday. Following Gabriel Magalhaes’ goal in the second half, the Blues suffered their second straight Premier League loss at Stamford Bridge. Graham Potter’s team is now seventh in the standings, 13 points behind unexpected leaders Arsenal and five points behind fourth-place Tottenham.

Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton in August, and since the £60 million transfer was completed, he has made 16 appearances. The 24-year-old, however, was not spared on Sunday, and later that day, he was the target of Alan Shearer and Micah Richards’ ire. The goal by Gabriel was ineffectively guarded. Bukayo Saka’s corner was not successfully cleared by Kai Havertz or Thiago Silva, but Cucurella stayed focused on keeping Granit Xhaka close to him. Gabriel was there to score as the ball crossed the six-yard line.

Shearer described the game-winning play as disgraceful from a Chelsea perspective. Regardless of whether Silva or Havertz cleared it, a lot of players could have. Edouard Mendy, the goalkeeper, is not given a chance. Not even a fantastic ball in. Look at Cucurella and Granit Xhaka there. He does not move at all. He does nothing at all other than hold Xhaka.

It says, “My man is not going to score,” but the former Manchester City defender Richards added, “But he’s taken that literally!” Cucurella only needs to move an inch to the left to go past it! I had no idea what he was thinking at all. The Blues received criticism for their lack of innovation in their offense as well. Compared to Arsenal’s total of 14, they only managed five shots the whole night, with just one of those being on goal. Chelsea has struggled to score this season, scoring only 17 goals in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace (15), Aston Villa (14), West Ham (12), Everton (11), Bournemouth (15), Southampton (12), Wolves (eight), and Nottingham Forest are the only eight teams with a worse record (10). Chelsea has fewer Premier League goals than Ering Haaland (18). Shearer continued, “They could still be there now and they still wouldn’t have scored such was their lack of quality in the final third.” about Chelsea’s onslaught. They didn’t get into many good positions, but when they did, their last ball was awful.

When Havertz enters the area, he makes far too many touches, making it far too simple for Arsenal to place defenders in front of the play. They didn’t stand a chance of scoring today. Arsenal is dominating, even though Chelsea’s campaign isn’t going as planned. The team led by Mikel Arteta has won 11 of its first 13 Premier League games, moving them two points ahead of league leaders Man City and 13 points ahead of fifth-place Manchester United.
